The look of a poor man when he sees money.

The intrepid blogger of The Shared Pen is Nathan Hicks. Born in the late 80's, this weirdo of weirdos found RPGs ten years ago and shortly thereafter began GMing, teaching himself DnD 3.5 while he GM'ed it. He's been on the run ever since, and has GM'ed the Burning Wheel Family of Games, Misspent Youth, Marvel Heroic, which are but a few of the many games he's been exposed to. These days Nathan decided that the life of being a bum artist was not for him, so he joined the Army, graduating bootcamp May 1st, 2014. He's currently in A.I.T. and is waiting for the day he can unleash himself upon the world once again.

Somehow this guy found a woman willing to marry him, and so they will soon be together. Again, we're not sure how it happened, but all of the people who make sure Nathan doesn't inflict himself upon others scratch their heads in wonder. And fear.


Nathan's done three other blogs, The School's Trees, a blog about the anime Clannad and its sequal Clannad: After Story, Pilgrim Studios (which is yet again under construction!) a blog featuring his Byzantine Iconography, and The Kitchen Sink, the blog in which he writes random things whenever wants however he wants. Why on earth he doesn't have just one blog Nathan can't say, neither can we. Honestly we're going to need some Xanax after this is all done as it is, so we're not  going to ask him too many more questions.

Besides his passion for role-playing Nathan has a deep love for Orthodox/Byzantine Catholic Christianity, Byzantine iconogaphy, history, reading novels and comics, martial arts, and still finds old episodes of the Power Rangers to keep himself busy if ever he gets bored. He has an Associate's in Philosophy from Franciscan University of Steubenville and a B.A. in Art from Benedictine College.
